February Feature Wine – 2008 Laetitia Brut Rose

It’s the month of love, and all things pink.  We couldn’t think of a better time to feature our love-colored sparkling wine – Laetitia Brut Rosé.  The most recent vintage of 2008 has received great accolades in the short few months since its release including; a Gold Medal from the San Francisco International Wine Competition, a Silver Medal from the Orange County Fair Wine Competition and 90 Points from the Connoisseurs’ Guide to California Wine.

The 08 Brut Rosé is a blend of 76% Chardonnay and 24% Pinot Noir and it is a limited wine at 802 cases produced.  Brut Rosé has a long heritage in Champagne.  For many it is a favorite among sparkling wines due to it’s amazing aromas and flavors and beauty in the glass.  We first started producing this wine in the Maison Deutz days, with the first vintage being 1997.  All of our sparkling Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc base wines are kept in separate tanks until the blending takes place in the spring.  For the vintage rose, Sparkling Winemaker Dave Hickey selects the base wines that are most elegant in structure for the initial blend.  He then selects, from the still wine Pinot Noir that Eric has made, a few barrels that are brighter in fruit and lower in tannin and adds those in with the blended base wines.  Finally the Brut Rosé is bottled in the traditional manner and put in the cellar to ferment and age.

In honor of this love-filled month, we are offering 15% OFF of our 2008 Laetitia Brut Rosé and 25% OFF for our Wine Club Members.  You can order online, visit us in the tasting room, give us a call at 805.481.1772 or email us at orders@laetitiawine.com.
